DW2
Going 3D Brings DW2 A Whole New Perspective To Their Design Projects
When Roger Woodward first set up DW2 he was perfectly happy working with this 2D AutoCAD software. He never realised what potential was out there if he would only just move up to 3D. And then Chris Straker downloaded the 30 day trial of Revit Architecture and a whole new world opened up to them.
Challenge
It's easy to continue working in a known environment using software and features that you're comfortable with. But the risk is that you never experience how much potential there might be to expand your customer portfolio and the range of work you can offer. Getting DW2 to take those first steps from 2D to 3D has opened the door to a whole new client base.
Why Autodesk
With 10 years AutoCAD experience in the company it was a natural progression to move to an Autodesk product and now being able to create in 3D with Revit, export DWG files which can then be imported into AutoCAD to work on further, their workflow has been greatly enhanced.
Results
- Increased range of architectural projects possible by working with Revit
- Notable savings in time by working directly in 3D
- Far easier to make changes
- Improved workflow
- Improved visuals for customers
- Increased business
"The ability to work by modelling in 3D right from the beginning makes all the difference to the workflow. I don't have to create each of the elevations separately - they're already there! It saves no end of time."
Chris Straker, Revit Designer, DW2
