What is the best CAM software?

Otherwise known as Computer Aided Manufacturing, CAM refers to an automated manufacturing process that uses software alongside computer-controlled machinery. Unlike CAD (which is chiefly concerned with the design of a given component), CAM is focused on actually producing it. But for a CAM system to function, it needs both the industrial machinery to perform processes like cutting, roughing and milling, and the software to issue the commands. There are many different CAM software types, but at Cadspec, we recommend the advanced toolsets created by Autodesk, while offering the CAM training that helps our clients get the most from them.

Cadspec CAM

What is CAM training?

For most designers, teaching yourself how to use CAM software will end in frustration and a loss of competitive edge. It’s far better to take Cadspec’s world-respected CAM training. From the Essential courses in PowerInspect and Fusion 360 that get you up and running fast, to advanced workshops in FeatureCAM turning and milling, we pride ourselves on building our courses around your business needs. And if there’s a specific topic you’d like to tackle in more detail, just let our expert trainers know. From offering small workshops to arranging personalised CAM training for a team, nobody is more flexible.

What is the difference between Fusion 360 and FeatureCAM?

Automating your workflow from design to NC code, Autodesk’s FeatureCAM software is a CNC programming toolset that includes feature recognition to identify and create features automatically. The key benefits include cutting your programming time and producing consistently high-quality results for CNC milling, turning, multi-tasking and wire applications. At Cadspec, we offer Autodesk’s collaborative and cloud-enabled Fusion 360 software with FeatureCAM, while also providing the expert-led CAM training that helps you get the most from it.

Cadspec CAM Software
