What does Autodesk Vault do?

Developed by Autodesk, the Vault data management tool works hand-in-hand with the Californian company’s most powerful design software. In fact, Vault is integrated with products including Inventor and Inventor Professional, AutoCAD Mechanical and Electrical, Revit and Civil 3D. The core concept of Vault is to help teams of designers stay in control of projects as they progress while maintaining version control between multiple collaborators. With Vault, designs can be organised and reused by consolidating product information, without the need to recreate designs from scratch.

What are the different types of Autodesk Vault?

Previously available in three different versions – Basic, Workgroup and Professional – Autodesk has recently started offering its data management tool in just two formats. The new Vault Professional is advanced enterprise product data management software that helps multisite, multi-CAD teams collaborate and gain sharper insights. Meanwhile, Vault Office offers next-level document management for non-CAD users, integrating with Microsoft Office packages like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Cadspec’s team can help you skill up with the latest toolsets, but because we know many of our clients still use the existing software, we also offer Autodesk Vault training for Basic, Workgroup and Professional.

How do I set up Autodesk Vault?

Like all Autodesk products, Vault is intuitive and user-friendly, but by setting up this data management tool without guidance, you’re liable to make mistakes and waste time in the long run. As a result, most ambitious businesses choose Cadspec’s Autodesk Vault training, helping to quickly boost their team’s skills so they can use Vault with confidence. As an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre, our seasoned team knows Vault inside-out and is on hand to guide you from foundational skills to the insider techniques that give you the edge.

Does Autodesk Vault work with AutoCAD?

Amongst other Autodesk products, Vault can be integrated with AutoCAD Mechanical and Electrical using an add-in, and that’s just one example of a core skill you’ll learn on our Vault Basic: Essentials course. Whatever questions you have – from ‘Is Autodesk Vault a CDE?’ to ‘Is Autodesk Vault PDM or PLM?’ and ‘Does Revit work with Vault?’ – our expert trainers have heard them all, and we’ll ensure that by the end of the workshop, you have both the theory and hands-on skills to move confidently forward with Vault.

Can Autodesk Vault be cloud-based?

Wherever you are in the world, Vault is always at your fingertips, with the mobile app well-established and collaboration easier than ever thanks to this year’s introduction of Vault Gateway in Vault Professional. Of course, Autodesk is always making updates to Vault, but as an accredited Autodesk trainer, Cadspec’s experts are always first to hear about any developments and will make sure you leave our Vault training workshops with the latest skills to take charge of your data.
